CHA Middle School Curators To Educate the World!
The Art Electives class is involved in a wonderful, cross-curricular activity, in partnership with the San Diego Airport. Lindbergh Field has asked us to create a Jewish Cultural collection to be displayed in the museum cases found under the Spirit of St. Louis This museum space, found in terminal 2, is the passing point of entry for all persons visiting San Diego..
Because there are six display cases, the class chose to concentrate on six topics: Jews in Medicine, Famous Jewish Inventors, Global Jewish Food, Jews in the Fine and Performing Arts, Jewish Sports Heroes, and the Holocaust. The student teams will research these areas of interest and select five specific points of interest. Then, acting as curators, they will collect the items needed for the display cases, write descriptions for each event or item, and design a brochure which will extend information and learning.
We are very excited and pleased to be able to share these fascinating slices of history with San Diego and the world!
