Students of all ages put their all into preparing a very special Grandparent's/ Tu'Bshat celebration. They created the invitations individually with love and expectation. Students practiced their songs, finished up their costumes, learned their lines and then waited for today to arrive.
And when it did, our campus came alive with a record number of Grandparents, over 150, making the journey from as far away as Israel, the east coast and many making the drive from L.A./Orange County to join us.
Mrs. Avril Marks, beloved surrogate grandmother to many gushed that "This was simply the best celebration ever! I loved the musical, the omelet station and the children!"
Grandparents spent time in the classrooms, enjoyed a delicious Brunch, were entertained by students of all grades in a beautiful performance and witnessed a tribute to their commitment to their Grandchildrens education with the planting of a special Tu B'Shvat tree in their honor.
Mrs. Betty Schwartz, grandparent of Netanel and Doron, and a teaching professional herself of many years, commented that "the Grandparent's Celebration was the best she has ever seen."
Please let us know if you have local surrogate grandparents for your children so that we can be sure to invite them for next year.
If your children's grandparents would like to receive information about upcoming events and classroom news, please provide their email address to csparks@chasd.org so that we can update our records.
