THE 20,000 LIGHTS OF CHANUKAH
A snow filled Chanukah event for the entire family

Chabad Hebrew Academy plans on hijacking the December holiday season by transforming its 27-acre Scripps Ranch campus into the second annual “Chanukah Wonderland” filled with the spirit of Chanukah and more than 45 tons of imported snow.
Last years Chanukah wonderland attracted over 3,000 children. “Children came from all over the county to see snow falling in San Diego,” said Marci Germain of Chabad Hebrew Academy.
Children can toboggan over fields of snow, imported for the occasion. The cold will be offset by food and live music, both steaming hot. A separate snow area for toddlers is being prepared as well.
Chabad Hebrew Academy is the home to San Diego’s tallest permanent menorah at 30 feet tall. This menorah titled “Pride” by artist “Jack Winer is a reminder of the “Cedar Fire” miracle observed on the school campus when everything other than the menorah and the new buildings was destroyed.
A public menorah lighting will take place at 5:00 PM on both nights.
