Chabad HebrewAcademy visited by local and international leaders
In a growing succession of visits the Chabad Hebrew Academy has been recognized by local and international figures for its academic excellence and its impact on the local educational community. Last Chanukah, Rabbi Yonah Fradkin executive director of the Academy was invited to light the capitol menorah in a private ceremony hosted by Governor Arnold Swarteneger in a statement of his support of Jewish education and educational excellence. At a more recent event Mayor Dick Murphy surprised parents and faculty by proclaiming October 31st as "Chabad Hebrew Academy Day in recognition of the dedication of its new campus and in appreciation of the students and faculty of the Chabad Hebrew Academy who exceeded and surpassed (consistently) California academic standards."
The Chabad Hebrew Academies new campus is at the forefront of educational design and was dedicated in an emotional ceremony by Israel's Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Yonah Metzger together with the new campuses major contributors Mr. & Mrs. Peter Chortek, Mr. & Mrs. Richard Gabriel, Mr. Colin Seid and Mr. & Mrs. Barry Galgut. Since moving into their new facilities leading educators and community leaders from across the country have toured the facility to replicate the advanced design. During a recent visit Councilmember Brian Maienschein stated "the key is the warm, friendly atmosphere created by the teachers and administrators." Chabad will be having an open house on January the 19th. Please call 858.566.1996 for more information.
